Air Management
Airflow, Fresh Air & CO2
How air distribution, fresh air, exhaust, and CO2 control shape pinning, mushroom shape, and yield in a production room.
Mushrooms breathe. During cropping they release CO2 and need controlled fresh air to form healthy pins and well-shaped fruits.
Air must be distributed evenly across all racks — poor distribution causes uneven cropping, long stalks, and quality problems. Fresh air, exhaust, and recirculation must be balanced with temperature and humidity so the crop is not stressed.
Good airflow engineering is invisible when it works and very costly when it fails. It should be planned at the design stage, not fixed later.
