What Is a Mushroom Processing Unit?
A mushroom processing unit is a food-grade facility for post-harvest value addition — including washing, grading, slicing, drying, pickling, and packaging. Processing extends shelf life from 2 days (fresh) to 6-18 months (dried/pickled) and increases value from about ₹120/kg (fresh, our cost model) to ₹800-1500/kg (dried). FSSAI license is mandatory.
