What is the Andhra Pradesh Mushroom Mission?
The AP Mushroom Mission is a state-led horticulture initiative for commercial mushroom units in Andhra Pradesh. The central money comes from one national scheme: MIDH pays 40% of cost norms (up to ₹12 lakh on a production unit and ₹12 lakh on a compost unit), or NHB pays 35% of ₹75,000 per tonne for units above 50 MT — never both. Any AP state assistance comes on top only once the AP Horticulture Department confirms it. Apply online via the AP Horticulture portal with a bankable DPR; release is by DBT after joint inspection.
Subsidy structure
Central: MIDH
40% of cost norm (50% in Scheduled Areas)
Up to ₹12 lakh on a production unit, ₹12 lakh on a compost unit, ₹8 lakh on a spawn unit. Credit-linked, back-ended.
Or central: NHB
35% of ₹75,000 per tonne
For capacity above 50 MT, up to ₹78.75 lakh. A choice with MIDH, never a stack.
AP state assistance
Confirm before you count it
The only AP figure we have read in a primary document: a mushroom item approved at ₹30 lakh under the PM-RKVY Annual Action Plan, March 2025.
NABARD
No subsidy
It refinances the bank that lends you the term loan (Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank, APGVB, SBI and others).

Who is eligible
Andhra Pradesh resident farmer / FPO / SHG / agri-entrepreneur with valid Aadhaar
Land ownership documents (or registered lease minimum 7 years)
Bank account in scheduled commercial bank (active for 6+ months)
Project capacity 100 kg/day or higher (commercial scale)
Training certificate from ICAR/ANGRAU/state horticulture mission preferred
DPR with 5-year financial projections and DSCR > 1.5x
Application workflow — 7 steps
Online registration
Register on the Andhra Pradesh Horticulture Department portal (apdhmm.ap.gov.in or successor portal) with Aadhaar, mobile and bank KYC.
DPR upload
Upload a bankable DPR. It must name the one central scheme you are using — MIDH or NHB, never both on one project — and any AP state assistance you apply for.
District-level scrutiny
Horticulture Officer (HO) verifies land documents, conducts site inspection, and forwards to the District Mission Committee.
Pre-sanction approval
State Mission Director issues pre-sanction. Construction must start within 90 days of pre-sanction.
Bank loan tie-up
Approach NABARD-refinanced banks (Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank, APGVB, SBI) with the pre-sanction letter as supporting document.
Construction & inspection
Build infrastructure as per approved DPR. Joint inspection by Horticulture Officer + bank officer post-completion.
Subsidy release
Subsidy is released directly to your bank account (DBT) post-inspection, typically 45–90 days from joint inspection report.
